Good to know
How often should I have a check-up?
Every 6 months is recommended. Some people need hygiene visits every 3 to 4 months, and your dentist will advise you.
Does a scale and polish hurt?
For most people it is painless. If your teeth are sensitive, we can use numbing gel or local anaesthetic.
I haven't been to a dentist in years. Is that OK?
Yes. Everyone is welcome, however long it has been, and our team will put you at ease.
Will a scale and polish whiten my teeth?
It removes stains from tea, coffee, red wine and smoking. It will not make teeth whiter than their natural colour.
How long do white fillings last?
For most patients, composite fillings last at least 10 years with good care.
What are fissure sealants?
A resin coating on the grooves of back teeth that keeps out food and bacteria. No drilling or needles are needed, and they usually last 3 to 5 years.
